In 1966, Horst Oberländer established the manual typesetting company in Wiesbaden, Germany. Progressing from metal to hot metal typesetting in big leaps, the company has been in a constant process of advancement. In the middle of the 1970s, the entire industry migrated towards electronic typesetting computers. Just like today, Studio Oberländer GmbH kept pace with the rapid development of the printing industry at the time.
The “digital revolution” at the beginning of the 1990s then allowed the joint processing of video and sound data. This was when Kersten Andreas Oberländer joint his father’s company whose managing director he has been since 2006.
After physical, technical and personnel changes, Studio Oberländer turned from a metal typesetter to a media services provider looking back on over 50 years of media industry know-how. And yet, the company has never moved away from its initial mission:
